Trowell
Womens Institute
Trowell W I is an active, flourishing
and welcoming group, with a broad range of ages, backgrounds and interests.
We meet on the third Tuesday of the month from 7.30pm in the Parish
Hall. We normally have a guest to entertain us, speaking on anything
from flower demonstrations to Euthanasia, from musicals to touring
the world on a cycle. Members have an active social life, with outings,
mystery trips, darts, visits to the theatre, meals out, taking part
in other activities in the village such as weekly rambles, keep fit
and indoor bowls, badminton, choir, . And we help to entertain the
village with dances and concerts, sometimes fashion shows.
We aren't just jam and Jerusalem
- though we haven't appeared on a calendar! We have a lot of fun and
want to share it. Give us a try - we are very friendly and welcoming.
Come as a visitor or ring Pat Wilson on 0115 9301337 for more information.
We hope to see you soon!
Click on "What's On and Where" section for full programme.
Trowell (WI) Ladies Choir
The Choir was formed in 1970 and has
always had non-WI members. We are a very friendly lively group of
about
12 ladies who enjoy singing. We entertain at local Care homes and
some other events (sometimes WI)with a mix of light popular songs
and comedy sketches.
We now practice at 29 Wortley Avenue,
Trowell (instead of at the Church Hall) on most Monday evenings from
7.30 to 9pm between September and June. We welcome any ladies who
would like to come along to see what we do and think about joining
us. Don't be frightened - there are no auditions, you don't even need
to be able to read music. If you enjoy singing we would love to meet
you. Ring Pat Wilson on 0115 9301337 or Audrey Swindell on 0115 9324133
if you would like more information.
