Trowell WI
The Women's Institute offers women
the opportunity of sharing friendship and learning to help widen their
horizons and together influence local, national and international
affairs.
Trowell W I is an active, flourishing
and welcoming group, with a broad range of ages, backgrounds and interests.
We meet on the third Tuesday of the month (except August) from 7.30pm
in the Parish Hall. We normally have a guest to entertain us, speaking
on anything from flower demonstrations to Putting us in Touch with
our Psychic Side, from Indian Cookery to Belly Dancing. Members have
an active social life, with outings, mystery trips, darts, visits
to the theatre, meals out, taking part in other activities in the
village such as weekly rambles, keep fit and indoor bowls, badminton,
Choir. And we help to entertain the village with dances and concerts,
sometimes fashion shows.
We aren't just jam and Jerusalem
- though we haven't appeared on a calendar! We have a lot of fun and
want to share it. Give us a try - we are very friendly and welcoming.
Come as a visitor or ring Pat Wilson on 0115 9301337 for more information.
We hope to see you soon!

Trowell (WI) Ladies Choir
The Choir was formed in 1970 and has
always had non-WI members. We are a very friendly, lively group of
about 15 ladies who enjoy singing. We entertain at local Care homes
and some other events (sometimes WI) with a mix of light popular songs
and comedy sketches.
We practice on Monday nights 7.30
to 9pm at the Church Hall, Nottingham Rd, Trowell from September to
June. We welcome any ladies who would like to come along to see what
we do and think about joining us. We start for the Autumn on Monday
7 September 2009. There are no auditions and it is not necessary to
read music - you will probably know the songs anyway.
Ring Pat Wilson on 0115 9301337 if
you would like more information.
